Range Rover's used values up again

Due to a lack of retail sales in the new car market the current used car supply is extremely low therefore driving up the values of good quality second hand cars. In particular it seems that certain marques that have a high desirability are maintaining there values and in lots of cases actually increasing. Around this time last year the 4x4 sector was the kiss of death and values were on the decrease month on month so they were unfairly hit with an unrealistic decline. The consequence is that since the turn of the year they have been on a steady rise back to where they should be so if you bought a Range Rover anytime in the back end of last year the chances are that your vehicle is probably worth more if not the same as what you paid for it. Very Happy

Scotland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but if you have a TDV6 the October guide is showing an increase of +£475 to +£500, but if you have a TDV8 then it is showing a decrease of -£600.'Yawn'

I have to admit, however, that's not my experience, I had a couple of dealers interested in my TDV8 and finally received £1k over book price because of the larger engine. They both said they have enough stock of V6 but the TDV8 was becoming a rare and more desirable beast on the used market.

So, like any discussion regarding used prices, it depends what day of the week it is, where you are located, if the dealer has any money, if your planets are in alignment, if you have blond hair, etc, etc.'Exclamation' .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??

.

Slightly out of the UK market but wotrh mentioning. I bought a FFRR TDV8 (new) about 2 month ago for EUR 52.000 and as it has done less than 500 miles ever since I was recently offered EUR 65.000 for it. Whistle Though no point of selling as i can not get the MY10 in same spec for less than EUR 85.000 Big Cry

I hate trading cars in - haggling the value is a bit of a chore and you never know when you might need your old car again ... so I just put them in my back garden ......
