Due to a lack of retail sales in the new car market the current used car supply is extremely low therefore driving up the values of good quality second hand cars. In particular it seems that certain marques that have a high desirability are maintaining there values and in lots of cases actually increasing. Around this time last year the 4x4 sector was the kiss of death and values were on the decrease month on month so they were unfairly hit with an unrealistic decline. The consequence is that since the turn of the year they have been on a steady rise back to where they should be so if you bought a Range Rover anytime in the back end of last year the chances are that your vehicle is probably worth more if not the same as what you paid for it. |

Slightly out of the UK market but wotrh mentioning. I bought a FFRR TDV8 (new) about 2 month ago for EUR 52.000 and as it has done less than 500 miles ever since I was recently offered EUR 65.000 for it. Though no point of selling as i can not get the MY10 in same spec for less than EUR 85.000 |

I hate trading cars in - haggling the value is a bit of a chore and you never know when you might need your old car again ... so I just put them in my back garden ......
