Knocking and the MY2010 (Was REDUCED PERFORMANCE RRS MY2010)

after only doing 600m on the clock driving on the motorway all of a sudden reduced
performance with red triangle pops up and slows down pulled on to hard shoulder
absolutly mad as i was already late to see a client turned off the engine Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry
called land rover assist who came within 30min and pluged his lap top but could not rectify towed the vehicle
to land rover and gave me a replacement car.following morning guy salmon rings to say rrs ready for pick up
they said something like GTO land rover are not aware of this problem and told them to reload ecu software
which they done and car is fine.collected the rrs and after 2 days and done another 400miles the same thing happend
again and was back into guy salmon now they say it may be a software issue and land rover know about this and are working
on it.then the next day they tell me they found that the intake pipe on the secondary turbo was loose and they have tightened it.i have now done 1600miles but still feel there is something wrong with it and now getting a clonking noise from the front when going over bumps. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad are any other 2010my owners getting or had this sort of problems rrs my2010 3.0tdv6 hse

Oh dear.... "clonking noise when going over bumps" doesn't sound very promising - one of the highest profile problems on previous RRSes was something along these lines. We were all hoping it would be fixed in MY10 as the system is different....

As for your other problem, it was not unknown on pre-MY10 cars - again, difficult to tell if it's the same thing with the newer version as there's obviously very few around as yet.

Best put it back in the hands of the dealer to resolve Very Happy

Oh dear sounds like the same kind of problems that occurred in the first batch in 2005.

I'd thought they would have fixed the front suspension issue. WW won't be pleased at spending £66k for another one with that has that standard feature, even if it goes faster.........immagine the slow clonk........clonk in a diesel and in the 5.0 litre it will be clonkclonkclonk Rolling with laughter

Ranger, I hope the dealer can sort it for you Exclamation TDV6 - gone

Sorry to hear that, must say I'm not completely surprised. Disappointed but not surprised.

Really in two minds about getting the MY2010, more new bits, more teething problems, and sounds like some old characteristics. Big Cry

I would be parking it on the dealer's forecourt and suggesting they give you a loan car while you wait for your new one at no extra charge. Iwould be furious if I were in your shoes..... Evil or Very Mad Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Sorry to hear your news. Get them to carry out a thorough quality check on the car before giving it back to you.

We've delivered 25 1020 RR's so far and (touch wood) we have not had a single problem after handover. I've not experienced any knocking on the ones I've driven so it could be an unrelated issue which they need to address.

James

Well LR strikes again. Shocked

They design a great car, update it and don't fix inherent problems.

If it's that bad I'd be inclined to reject it, I know you'll have a difficult time doing so. Ask them where in the brochure it describes these wonderful characteristics. Rolling Eyes

Push back though and make sure they are not fobbing you off, considering the other problems you've had you need the car fully checked as James at CHPR said. Speak to the Dealer Principal, tell him you're not happy with the assesment of the fault and raise to LR Customer Services also. Good Luck Thumbs Up
