Servicing Plans

I was speaking to my local dealer who informed me about their 2/3yr servicing plans.

For the 2yr it would cost me £42 x 24 generating a £208 saving.
For the 3yr it would cost me £37 x 36 generating a £307 saving

all interest free.

Has anyone taken this offer up? I'm not sure if I would because I tend to change my car every 18 months but I thought it was quite a good saving. Question Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

If you pay a lump sum instead, is the agreement transferable to another owner?

When I owned a FFRR LR offered a 5 year service maintenance agreement called VIP that covered almost everything except insurance - they were so confident about the quality of the car as it had been developed entirely by LR in BMW ownership and it was the first totally new car they were launching under Ford ownership.......................... it cost them a lot of money at the end of the day because it covered the cars out to 5 years and for things that the warranty would normally have run out on at year 3. Cost about £1000 which seemed alot but it was so encompassing that it was worthwhile buying - imagine you were the owner of a FFRR when the annual road tax went up by £120 and land Rover were paying! If you sold the car before it was 5 years old the agreement in that case was IIRC not transferable 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, you can transfer it to another owner so it's an incentive when the car is sold. The price is fixed at todays charge so it protects you in the event of a service cost increase. My initial thought was to just stick with the LR extended warranty when my 3yr warranty expires but this has got me thinking.

The deal you mentioned for the FFRR sounded like a no brainer! Somebody said the tax for RRS was going down...have you heard anything like that? Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

No but maybe the new TDv6 3.0 produces less CO2's and falls in a lower group 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Good idea but It would depend on what the service plan includes.

I've got a non LR one at the moment which was offered with the finance which covers servicing, tyres, exhausts and just about most things for about £40 a month.

They've had a bad year out of me so far - annual service approx £350, new front discs and pads all round £500 and four new tyres £1000. Good for me though Thumbs Up

But I would consider the LR one when this fantastic deal ends. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

The service plan just fixes the servicing costs at current prices with a discount to committing over 2/3yrs.

In terms of warranty, you'd need to extend it once your manufacturers warranty has expired which is additional cost.

Sounds as though your deal is quite good. Is this specific to your finance company? Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

I'm afraid so. I've had it on the last 3 cars as I've used the same finance company each time. TDV6 - gone

I assume that this is based upon a certain annual mileage - can you clarify how you have worked out the savings?

Every 15k miles.

The savings were worked out by the dealer against what it would cost for a service at their dealership over the respective periods. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"
