MY2010 vs MY2009

Boys and girls, first time poster and need some advice.

Been offered a new MY2009 RRS TDV8 HSE for a very good price (£38k). Now, do I go for this or is the MY2010 worth the extra?

List on the MY2010 is £56k; any idea what discounts are available? (I'm assuming not much as it is new)

Welcome - tough one this. The new RRS is a great upgrade but at £18k more I really don't know what I would do. If you can afford it go for the new model if money is tight go for the MY2009. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

How quickly do you want a TDv8?
I assume the 2009MY car is dealer stock whereas the 2010MY might not be and you will have a wait for it to arrive, but then also you get the spec you want too! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Indeed, tough one. I think £18k is probably too much but if the difference was £12k I could probably justify it (if only for the new dashboard which looks amazing).

I was thinking residuals too but I don't see the MY2010 being worth significantly more in 3 years time.

Choices, choices!

Obviously quicker is better but I can wait! I should also add I'm looking for a LHD version which will no doubt complicate matters furthers (not even sure if you can order a new LHD from LR UK).

18k is a big difference. I'd go for the MY2009. Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

MY10 every single time................I drove the TTDV6 and it is amazing (for a diesel) and as far as I am aware, only about 0.4 seconds slower, but with far better fuel economy than the TDV8.

Interior wise, it makes the >2009MY look very dated. The ride and handling have also been improved dramatically, not taking anything away from the now older car which IMO handled fantastically anyway.

The only negative for me are the lights at the rear (very Halfords) and the lack of full strength version (HST) and of course the possibly pending 600BHP R version Mr. Green Wink

Good luck with the choice. Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

For the here and now, it's got to be a MY10 really. Really nothing wrong with the 09 at all, but if it was me, I think I'd be forever regretting that my car was out of date before I even took delivery of it Confused

But then the cash difference is compelling.... Smile

I think the cash is going to win! I missed on a new LHD Full Fat Vogue TDV8 at £45k so somewhat bitter now when it comes to spending money!

Cash always wins the argument, but in time you will probably regret it. If you do go for the 2009MY then don't go anywhere a 2010MY, curiosity and cats etc.

For me the updated car is the biz and now I've driven one, wouldn't go near a 09.

Shame, might turn out for the best in the end. Thumbs Up

But at 38k I'm not surprised it's sold.

A lot of car for the money.

Bow down Bow down Bow down to those TDV8s.

The Rimini lifted so much at the front looked like he was in off road height. Cool
