United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Joined the forum yesterday and posted query. Thanks to "Tim from Scotland" and "Killerbob" for prompt replies.

Bought new 09 MY RRS TDV8 in July to replace Disco3 TDV6 and BMW 530d (dont need two cars in a recession!). The Disco was probably the best car i have ever owned (including various mercs bmws, volvos etc) and was used mainly for towing and lugging kids around so the RRS is in for a similar tough life. So far love the power and noise but hate its drink problem.

Great web site (as is the disco 3 one) RR Sport TDv8

England 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi All,

Just found this site after pal at work mentioned it to me. We have both recently taken delivery of new RR Sport TDV8. Delighted with my car - which is going on an off road course for the first time tomorrow - having never done off road before just a bit nervous about damaging it - the guy at North Yorkshire Off Road Centre has said it will be fine!!! Rolling Eyes

I have a detachable tow ball which works really well and is easy to use. However, one of the little plastic clips which holds the bumper cover on has broken - the white bit which the fastener turns in on has popped out and I can't get it back in - any cluse to how to do this??

Kop

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Hi all, wow what a weekend............

A friend of mine who recently bought a 'Disco' was invited by the dealer to view the new 09 range. So yesterday he rang me and asked if I would like to also pop along.

Now I am an 'ex' BMW X5 owner and I take delivery of my new RRS (TDV6 HSE) on the 16th. I have to say what a fab vehicle!

I am not mechanically minded so forgive me if I ever ask any stupid question - I will always try and use the search function first - and I am sure you are all as friendly as the X5 guys Very Happy

Regards

Welcome to Kop and Mickx,

Kop, it's a common problem, the clips are available from your dealer's accessories and spares dept about 30p each. If you can get the car on a ramp or are happy to crawl under the car (never do that with the car in offroad or normal height BTW always in access mode so you have to be pretty thin!) then you can fit it yourself otherwise believe it or not it will cost you an hour's labour at approx £110ph as it is not an easy job to get into the back of the rear bumper!

Mickx - don't worry about silly/stupid questions we all ask them now and a gain somebody will point you in the right direction - the owners manual is a mine of info though and very few people ever seem to open it Laughing
Please tell us what swayed you away from the X5 to the RRS - we have a fair few of ex X 5 owners here but not many tell us why they have left "The ultimate driving machine" brand. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim, many thanks for the warm welcome.

IMHO - and from a high-level - the new engine range and improved 'on road' performance, true 'off road' capability, interior and external cosmetically more pleasing vs the post E53 model and finally the recommendation from three very good friends.

Looking forward to - and hoping - the RRS experience meets or exceeds expectations.

(I think I looked around the RRS longer than I looked around my house when I bought it.) Very Happy

Regards

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Java Black

Hi all,

I picked up my RRS S/C HST last week and, aside from a few ongoing niggles with the stealer, I have to say I am very very pleased with it Mr. Green . Coming from a 911, am still getting used to the size of the beast but, at least now I have a decent boot in preparation for the new addition!

The car came with chrome mirrors, but had them removed this w/e at CHPR...looks great now.

The wealth of knowledge on this site is very impressive...no doubt I will have questions so apologies in advance!

cheers,

Sam
