That was expensive! At the beginning of the year you could get your 40ft container from Southampton/Felixstowe to Yokohama for $1000...................... what costs you is the land side transport not the ship and I believe you will pay more than that $1000 to get the box from Manchester to the docks if you use the shipowner's truck or dedicated freight-train. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Best way to ship a car from the USA is by the car carrier service - same one as LR use to take cars the other way!

Tim We used to do container work out of Felixstowe and trust me when I say we weren't getting anything near that kind of money for delivering and picking up containers from and to there. Average rates were around £1.15 a mile. Most stuff out of Felixstowe went to Midlands so round trip was around £400-£500 for the round trip!! About £2500 for a WEEK was a bloody good week!! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur. 535d m-sport Platinum grey and a few extras.... Gone X5 3.0 sd in Space Grey, 20's, Dynamic Pack, Memory Pack, Media Pack, Tow Pack, Rear DVD, Panoramic Sunroof, Steps, 7 Seat Pack, Reversing Camera with moving lines, programmable park heat, etc etc etc - Gone Range Rover Sport Santorini, privacy, dvd, towpack GONE!!! |
