I have a car-charge-wire for iphone and a simple aux-in-wire in the aux-in. It cost about 5 Euros and works brilliantly! The only disturbing thing is that the ipods and iphones don't have enough power on the audio-out, so you will have to turn the radio quite loud to listen to ipod which will lead to a very loud navigation-voice! As for the quiestion about the stereo: I always thought it was quite bad concerning the sound quality until I found out it acutally sounds good when you put it loud! For any reason the sound is not really good when listening to it "normally" so just put your stereo louder and it will sound fine! (Which is also a great excuse when you don't want to talk to your wife, just tune up the stereo and tell her it is necessary for good sound! ) Besides that, you will love the RRS! Have fun with it and as Angel said: Get some Stormer-Wheels to make its looks perfect! It's a shame Belkin stopped making the preamped power source with volume control to boost the volume to normal levels for the ipod. I've got one. Plugs in the power source at back of the arm rest with a lead which plugs into the ipod. Then a 3.5mm male to male lead from the Belkin to the aux in port.

They stopped making them? That's a shame, they were a decent bit of kit.

I ordered a griffen Ipod stand/charger/aux out thing. It plugs in from under the ipod which is supposed to sound MUCH better than using the headphone plug and it also charges the ipod too.. So I'll let u know how it sounds when it comes in. There was the step up model that had a remote that u velcro to your steering wheel which now I'm thinking I should have gotten but I think I ended up getting it on amazon.com for only like $10 w/s&h where as the remote one was like $30.00 I figured that the ipod is close enough I can just do it myself..

Yes, this is a limitation of the system. I think the other entries become available if your phone has a "remote sim" mode 2009 Outstanding Contribution Award - Joint Runner Up 2009 'Tech-Head Of The Year' Award - Runner Up Like it here? Then Donate to RRSPORT!! |
