Little Black box behind front grill

Does anybody know what this is? Mine looks like it has come loose, and is dangling by quite a thickish wire out of the front grill.. i have tried to have a closer look but I can't see it when i left the bonnet...and can't see it from underneath...its causing me concern as its obviously come loose (either by being tampered with overnight, or just by bad luck)

Its about 3 inches long, and attached to a thick wire...it was originally behind the bottom left (when facing the car) part of the front grill? is it something to do with the alarm??

Thought I would ask, before I gave it into a workshop.

Hmm... can't think what that would be. If you lift the bonnet and whip the front grille out can you see where it's meant to fit?

ha ha!

I wish!!! I think someone has tried to tamper with the alarm (or at least they thought it was the alarm)....but surely Range Rover would not be so silly that they would put anything to do with the alarm so close to the front grill??!!! Shocked RRS Supercharged!!!!

There is too much in the way to see anything...I can see it from underneath...just about...it looks like it may have been attached to the car horn? RRS Supercharged!!!!

Maybe it is to do with the alarm then... this is where we wait for Bobby to come out the woodwork with a diagram that shows you exactly what you need to know Wink

Perhaps it's the emitter for the ACC ("Adaptive Cruise Control") ??

Although on second thought, I think that actually has “ACC” stamped on it. So maybe not Confused

Tim,

Thanks for going to the effort of actually removing your cars grill. I actually think some little scumbag has removed this black box themselves...it definitely looks like it has been tampered with...in an attempt to steal my pride and joy...I am going to drop it off at the workshop today, and hopefully they will let me know what exactly went on!

In the meantime....I will be purchasing an industrial strength steering wheel lock Rolling Eyes RRS Supercharged!!!!
