Do some searches on our sister site www.DISCO3.CO.UK - the park brake is identical and there are parts lists and full details of the procedure to repair the EPB. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I seem to have problems with parking break too. It appeared today, parked the car, switched the parking break on, after 2-3 seconds parking break light came on flashing with "parking break fault" message. So I switched the engine off and locked the doors. Then I unlocked the doors, started engine, the light stopped flashing, realised that the parking break was still engaged, so I disengaged it. No problem. Once again, I put the parking break on, 2 - 3 seconds later, the same result - flashing light and that same message. Despite all of this, parking break does work.
I get squeaking breaks every now and then, so I suspect it needs new braking pads and perhaps they really need to be changed now and hence the parking break problem?
Ironically, I left my phone at home so I could not call LR assistance, so I will have to do it tomorrow. Also, I will need my car tomorrow to drive around in the city and I am not sure if it is a good idea now.
Will give LR a call and see what they say. Might have to take it to the garage. Hopefully LR will be able to sort it out because I am really busy right now and have absolutely no time for anything else.
Any ideas on potential problems, fellas?
Regards, Vadim A.
