DAB radio

On the radio news this morning there was a whole lot of time spent discussing DAB radio and its faults/merits and if it will ever take over from FM...............................
One of the people interviewed made a statement that DAB has been a terrible flop because the signal propagation is not good in the UK and there are blind areas near buildings and out in the country - he stated that out of 2.4 million new cars sold in 2008 only 2000 where specified with DAB radios.

Does anybody on here have DAB in their RRS? Is it any good? Was it worth paying the extra for the DAB radio? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I have DAB in mine, a PURE Highway unit that I have fitted in the top glove box together with my IPOD docking device. All the wires are hidden away and powered using USB from the IPOD thingy, I have it hard wired into my AUX since you get better sound compared to using the FM transmitted option..

It works really well where I live but the signal is poor when I go over to the Lincs coast.

My dads just bought himself a new Lexus 450h Hybrid and they told him not to bother with the £300 DAB add on for this reason

This morning he then said what you have just posted so I think if dealers ain't bothered about selling it, it can't be worth it
