I have the RRS TDV8. I have discovered that the anti-roll bar active control module is leaking oil. Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is it common? Is it serious? I want to go greenlaning next week. Should I postpone the trip until the leak is repaired? As the vehicle is less than 2 years old would this be a warranty repair?

Not something I've heard of, but would definitely be warrantied. Best get along to your dealer

I'm not sure what 'anti-roll bar active control module' you're talking about. If you mean the Dynamic Response control module then that's way up high behind the instrument panel and there's no oil in it.

Most probably its oil leaking from the actuator at the stabilizer bar or from the fluid pipe connections. Other than the high pressure pipes, oil can also leak from the pump or valve block. This is serious.

Anyway, its advisable to get the vehicle checked by your dealer as soon as possible since prolonged driving with less or no oil is going to cost you in the long run. Surely a vehicle less than 2 years old is covered under warranty, no? Malaysia Boleh!

I am waiting to hear from the dealer about a replacement part.

I should mention that this module is at the rear.

I have no personal knowledge about it. I am having to rely on the mechanic who discovered it.

It might be the rear stabilizer bar actuator then.  Malaysia Boleh!

If you mean the big lump in the centre of the roll bar at the rear (and at the front) then yes I had mine leak. New seals fitted first but it still leaked, so new unit fitted. All covered by 3 year warranty. If the oil in the DR reservoir has not dropped much it will be OK to use on the road. It should make no difference when off roading. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

I have no technical knowledge but the dealer says it is the module that regulates the vehicle when it rolls left or right.

They accept it is a warranty claim and will replace it tomorrow or early next week.

So far so good.
