Hmmm. I have had a towbar and electrics fitted recently. I didn't pay much attention to it before. But, before I had the twobar electrics fitted, did I still have the same cover .... but just with nothing beneath it, or have they amended my bumper in some way? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks. |

The cover part of the bumper is fine, its the part that covers the actual tow bar connection which is beneath the bumper slightly set back.

There must be a way to drill a little hole through the red cap and use a small length of wire or cable to attach it to one of the two adjacent eyes. That way if it does fall out it won't go far. |

Got one for free after the last one dropped out, they cannot cost much, ask for one on the next service, perhaps the dealership will throw one in ![]() MY20 Defender 110 SE P400 Eiger/Ebony MY10 3.0 RRS TDv6 Fuji/Ebony/Anigre |

Thanks very much for the responses. The red plug is the one that I need to order so appreciate the possible part number Bob and pictures.

But what's it for anyway ? I guess its to stop lots of mud and dirt getting in there which would get in the way when you next fitted the removable tow bar. But maybe some tape over the hole would do just as well ? RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

IIRC on my last RRS i bent the 'catch' outwards to five it a tighter fit over concern of loss but TBH i don't think i'd miss it enough to replace it |

That sounds like a super advise. I also noticed that the plug doesn't find it's way on the first attempt. Very good idea. ![]() |

Mine has been sitting in the drawer at home from the first time I found it laying on the drive.

Noticed one of the two pins attaching the cover on mine was broken. I got a couple from the dealers and keep one as a spare in with the tools under the rear floor together with a two-pence piece to lock/unlock the pins with.
