Sometimes rebooting the phone helps. (You might have already tried this though.) 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I've just changed to a Blackberry Storm. Had a few problems with bluetooth to begin with and had to play around with the phone settings a little before I got it to pair automatically each time I get in the car.

Finally managed to fix the problem. Turned the phone on and off a few times but that didn't work. I then took the battery out, put it back in then turned it on and it now connects with the car. Not sure what the problem was but it's sorted now. 2008 RRS Supercharged

Some Blackberries - especially earlier models such as 81xx and 83xx - have the nasty habit to eat free memory slowly as you use their software or third party apps, and the only way to truly release the memory back to the phone is to quickly disconnect the battery; Turning the phone off and on doesn't really do it (kind of like a Range Rover Sport, ha ha.) If you don't refresh available memory, eventually things start disappearing - call logs, sent messages, etc. - and everything gets real sluggish and/or hangs, including the BT radio. I have figured out my Pearl needs the battery trick done about once a week to stay in tip-top shape, although memory management seems to have gotten better with each firmware release by RIM. |
