I don't disagree re the engine, but I think {generally} people get too hooked up on the engine side of things as the be all and end all. IMO, people should look at the overall package as opposed to just - what's it's 0-60. At the end of the day the LR family are fully paid up SUV members that happen to offer great on-road dynamics, aswell as a plethera of other class leading abilities to boot............. .........whereas the made up "special needs" category of SAV for the likes of the BMW's, Merc etc is totally reliant on bigger and faster engines for their market share......let's face it, they are not bought for their looks BTW - good selection on the car, otherwise these exchanges could have gone on a lot longer and a lot deeper L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now! 5 series for the miles RRS S/C factory built HST - Gone 45 others have been and gone! James, any news on prices... also, can you find out if you can retro-fit the interior to pre-2010? Cheers, Darren RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. (+ 19" MTR's for playing in the snow!) |

The new 3.0 Tdv6 has more power and torque than the engine in the X5 xDrive30d. LR has 245BHP/ 600Nm, the BMW has 235BHP/520Nm. The RRS weighs a lot, which is what hampers its acceleration - but then, none of its rivals have such a broad range of abilities, which are important to some of us, or we'd be stuck with Landcruisers. |

I would imagine so, the very similar system already found on Jaguars allows full control of an iPod via touchscreen. |

In what way are they 'Better'? If you mean in terms of technology and refinement then I massively disagree with you. The LR diesels are much more refined than either BMW or Merc. We test drove all of your named rivals before buying ours and even though they were considerably quicker than the RRS, the RRS was head and shoulders above the other two in the final pecking order. LR don't seem to be concerned with being at the head of the power race, as WW rightly points out LR vehicles have much, much more to them than a mere 0-60 sprint. If I were to buy another diesel then I wouldn't hesitate to buy a TDV8 or a new TDV6. As it is, it's SUPERCHARGED ALL THE WAY FOR ME, BABY!!!!!
