do all of you enjoy your careers or would any of you change them?

i love property and what i do, however, one day id love to own a resturant and a supercar garage! will never happen though as i am unexperianced in resturants, and the car business is so competative!

Personally I wouldn't have chosen this particular career path - i kind of fell into it. I have plans in place to move into two very different professions in the future but they are long term so for the next 5 years at least, I am stuck doing what I do. Especially as I am having to uild up large sums of capital to make that big step as I don't want to do it on a loan basis.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy it most of the time but I can't say I wake up looking forward to what I have to do everyday. The upside is this role and lifestyle affords me a great deal of freedom to manage my own time how I see fit. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Hah! Last offer I had was Mumbai and I said no to that too. That was Tata ironically.

You looking to embed a BPO consultant there or to offshore to there?

The Accenture shared service centre was in Bangalore if I recall correctly.

Move me to Aus and I'll give it some thought Razz (the car has to come too though) Smile WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Moving to OZ is not the problem, its getting the car there Neutral We tried importing the Wifes TD5 and gave up due to all the hurdles and hassle, easy enough to get it on a RORO ferry, just the ozzies make it a paperwork and import nightmare.

PS to embed a local i think in India, ex Wipro, Accenture or Satyam (may be a few around shortly) Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

European IT manager (I'll add this emoticon before anyone else does Yawn) for an office products company HQ'd in Chicago.

Spend most of my time in Doncaster but travel fairly often to major European countries as well as Russia and of course the US Rolling Eyes

Been doing IT since 1990 and although I'm not as technical as I was I enjoy the challenges it brings..... Current: I can't say...Oh the Shame!

I'd be interested to see what the value model is for an indian based organisation. I'm guessing offshoring is a non starter so is it just technology leveraging to reduce headcount and streamline process etc?

Out of interest what kind of BPO in particular? My forte was in HR across the whole human capital lifecycle so working on values around SAP/Peoplesoft etc. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award
