Was a team leader for security surveyors for an international security firm, our MD at the time had a supercharged RRS.
I started out living in Wick near the top of Scotland and have been moving south ever since, first to Glasgow then to head office in London, now I spend my time between Belgium, Glasgow and Wick.

At the risk of raising some hisses ...

I am a primarily BPO consultant by trade. Following 4 years in project management in new media (I am to blame for many of the fish4 web sites) I spent 6 years with Accenture. I then spent a couple of years with Capita running my own consulting division with all the headaches that come with managing a team of opinionated theoretical consultants whilst trying to apply the harsh realities of full P&L management.

My experiences of technical consultants is that they love to think organisations exist to pander to their adventurous whims playing with modern theory and not to make money for shareholders!

I took a long break from working after leaving Accenture because, well, its demanding in the extreme there! I did nothing for a year before taking up the position with Capita.

I left Capita last year and took a masisve pay cut for a job that doesn't necessitate having to visit our Censored of a capital (sorry to the London contingent on here). I now have a much better lifestyle working as an Account Director for another global consultancy but working in and around the North West. I am enjoying it but things are changing at the end of March so I may be putting myself on the market again! Biding my time for now.

I took my pay cut to move out of the BPO arena. Its not a comfortable feeling making profit by calculating how much you can reduce headcount by. I now make my money supporting people who have been made redundant by someone else . Ethically - its much more rewarding.

So my "profession" is kind of undefinable and recruiters refer to me as a "hybrid" - which I like. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

I always liked the story of Tom Hartley's son.

His father has the well known top end car dealership and his son was in there one day during the school holidays when, as the story goes a couple were looking at a 911 in the dealership.

Aged 11 or 12 he sold that Porsche to them and the rest was history.

I also believe that he either took his lessons or driving test in a Fezza 355.

I thought that was seriously cool when I was growing up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
