Seller has now asked me to pull out of the transaction as he didn't mean to put 99p as a BIN price, only a starting price. What are my rights with ebay? If I refuse he'll just not bother to send them. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If somone offers goods for sale at one price then you can say you would like to buy it, but it is still up to the seller to accept that price before the deal can go through.

lespes is right....there is no legal obligation to accept an offer. The onus is placed on the seller of goods as to whether they wish to accept an offer to purchase or not, even if the price has been advertised incorrectly. However fleabay may have a sub policy which makes allowance for this. Worth a try though VA.... |

The procurement guy sitting opposite me today says that companies offering goods for sale at a price are offering what is called an "invitation to treat" apparently. This means the seller of goods is willing to engage into a discussion over purchase but doesn't legally mean the goods have to change hands at the advertised price.
