Please adopt a Chamberlain type of appeasement when dealing with Angel, you do not want a panzer on the lawn Back on Topic: Very interesting as the LR dealers here did not say anything about this when i was thinking of chopping the 6 pot in for an 8 last month, perhaps they just do not know yet. Does anyone know what it will mean price wise, will there be 2 engine configurations in terms of BHP output and respective pricing to match, will they continue with the 2.7 as well ? Any of my fellow Poms in OZ heard anything about it from their local dealers ?? Another Pommie Bar Steward down under MY20 Defender 110 SE P400 Eiger/Ebony MY10 3.0 RRS TDv6 Fuji/Ebony/Anigre |

Production of the current TDV8 will stop shortly. Ford will build another TDV8 (about 1L bigger, due to start 2010), but I don't know whether Tata will buy it. The 3.0 TDV6 has more power, less emissions and less weight than the current TDV8. The TDV6 and TDV8 are all built on the same line, so it's not a loss of production - in fact production becomes easier. Production of the 2.7 will slow, but I've heard will still be supplied to non-european markets..... A D3 not in drag.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEr9N6EGFNg...Sv8zqkav9F |

DS cheers, just wondering whether the new 3.0 TDv6 will be a step change price hike from the existing 2.7 , or whether they will the use output to control the price on specific variations, there are no s, se or hse models in OZ, its based upon the type of engine basically which determines price and standard goodies.

The gentlemen I spoke to specifically said the 3.0 TDV6 was to replace the 2.7 and 3.6, any power variations were to be via single or twin turbo. BUT then they could be telling porkers! having a good laugh and waiting to see how long their BS takes to appear on a forum! |

The 3.0 is to replace the 2.7 in Europe as the 3.0 is EU5 compliant and the 2.7 is not. Obviously EU compliant is not an Austrailian requirement I have heard the 2.7 will continue in Oz for a while - maybe a low cost option (or more likely the 3.0 will be a high cost option )

My stealer stands by the fact that there will be a larger TDv8.. He also stated that the 2.7 would continue alongside the new 3.0..
