Trolley Jack

I am looking to buy a trolley jack - does anyone know if this will be ok to lift the sport enough when in offroad height:

2 tonne jack has a lifting range of 14-38cm

Cheers RR Sport TDV6 HSE 07MY Java Black

Your average two tonne trolley jack will not raise the RRS enough to extend the suspension travel and lift the wheels off the floor I'm afraid.

If you are thinking of going down the trolley jack route and it is only to be used at home, go for a three tonne trolley jack. This will have the lift extension and it will not struggle with the weight of the RRS.

You will need a 3 tonne jack. A word of advise, once the car is jacked up put a spare wheel next to the jacking point just in case the jack fails. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I was also told by the local tyre fitters to be very careful to put the trolley in the places shown in the manual, they had 2 very expensive "incidents" when Disco3 1st came out and they managed to jack the cars up with the jack under the suspension compressor. First time they changed my wheels over they asked for my owners manual as they had never had an RRS in the workshop before and they didn't want to muck up anything underneath 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The trouble with the trolley jack is they are so easy to use, you can easily get carried away and try lifting the whole side of your vehicle so that both wheels are off the floor at the same time. The three tonne jack would make this possible with no risk of collapse. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. I wouldn't use it! The car exceeds the weight limit. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

That jack also has a tiny lifting pad so all the weight is concentrated on a very small area, it needs a larger lifting area. Their 2t trolley jack (which I have and use for changing the wheels on my 90) has a bigger lifting pad.

Have you tried Machine Mart who also sell garage equipment? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

2t will lift the car you are only lifting one side - not the whole car! look for one that will lift to 500mm. If you search the D3 site someone was making adaptors to fit where the scissor jack fits. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate
