Around town we get 20mpg in our RRS which is the same as yours. However on a decent run on motorways we have had 33mpg.

All depends on what roads you driving on really.

Yes you should easily get 28 mpg. Since 1st January I have averaged 28.5 mpg in my TDV8. I would be expecting 30 mpg or more in a TDV6. Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.

on my TDV8 it goes up to 26mpg on the motorway (ACC set at 77mph). Around town its just over 20mpg. When I engage the Sport mode on the gearbox, and give it a spank, it drops to 16mpg.

Also pays to reset the MPG metering if you want to see what the trip you do is using. Press the I button for a few seconds and it will reset everything to 0. Eco button is part of the Air Con at the right of the center panel.

Its fairly useless here in Houston as Eco or off = sweat like a pig with our humidity Brit across the Pond Wink

What's the point of the eco button? The car has climate control so it should only switch on the Aircon when it needs it.

K2WDF - as AYATES said reset the mpg computer every time you refuel - also have you had the car serviced recently? It might be trying to tell you it needs one!
I fuelled up last night in Stirling and drove home 16 miles and today I have driven from the Trossachs to Glasgow Airport at 8:30 this morning and back at 8pm tonoght and the average mpg on my TDv8 was showing 28.2mpg by the time I got home at 9pm tonight, and that is driving at the speed limit and on the cruise all the way. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I tried it tonight again,i took it a 20mile run along the motorway constantly sitting at 60mph and it reached 19.6mpg and didnt budge above it,the car hasnt been serviced since last year,so should a service make a big impact on the mpg?

Also what sort of miles do you get for the amount of diesel you have put in,just so i can compare against my own?i put in £50 and got about 160 miles Shocked

Are you resetting the trip computer by pressing the button on the end of the left hand stalk in for 5 secs? You will know it has reset as a line of dashes appear in the mpg read out.

Cost of a service £300+ The service indicator should warn you when one is due.
Another thing could be if you always drive it in Sport mode with the gear lever over to the left. That locks out 6th gear and changes the shift pattern so you hold onto gears to higher up the rev band before changing up.

I think your car maybe needs some serious mechanical TLC though.

What age and mileage is the car K? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
