I have the cold pack and some (not) strong (enough) screenwash and have ben caught out at -3 to -7.

So am wondering, do we just wait for things to warm up?

I tried more concentrated screenwash and warm water on the nozzles to no avail.

Think this cold pack was designed for use in the outback, my wife's suzuki swift with no cold pack works much better, not that I tell her that though

My RRS sits outside all the time and the jets have never stopped working even when its as low as -12*C.
Might it be a fault, blown fuse?

Had my rear one frozen up today when I headed off to Dalwhinnie/Laggan for a spot of snow driving in the Cairngorms. It only took 16 miles before the rear line had thawed, the front set were OK. Have you tried using the "prog" button above the front and rear screen defroster switches Paul? Its very cold this morning and it took 2 attempts to start the RRS, Temperature is currently -17*C ( will post a picture of the temp indicator in car later on).
I Can confirm that both the rear and front washer jets are still operating unlike the water at the house which is frozen solid

Just piggy backing on the subject..last dec, on french highway to the Alps, the whole screen wash system just froze on me despite having been driving for 5/6 hours already...
Had to stop in a station and mix some defrozen stuff in the screen wash tank and wait a while for the thing to defrost...

I would say you hadn't made the mix strong enough Jimmy. At this time of year I make my screen wash 1/3rd Halfords Winter Formula (the vivid green one in the grey bottle) with 2/3rds water, if the forecast is for temperatures less then -5*C (without wild chill) then I go for 50/50 water, screen wash fluid.
I buy my winter formula screen wash in the summer when it's being sold off on BOGOF or buy 2 get 3rd free........... BTW the LR branded stuff is exactly the same as the Halfords winter mix above mix but 2x the price. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Vivid Green One ... isn't that the Magic one produced by leprechauns who eat too much clover ? Need to see a rainbow to make it work .....

Does anyone know what exactly is heated by the cold pack system?

Tim - I tried the windscreen heating function too. In 200 miles, I got no scooshers!

I think my premix might have been crap. If the bottle has frozen, I can't really expect that to be heated up.... 2022 P440e AB

One word Paul - Hairdryer.............................. the same one you used to change the badges on the boot/ radiator grille. The neighbours will think you are nuts but about an hour with the missus best turbospeed hairdryer on the hottest setting should thaw it out!

Alternatively, if you can get the filler cover open, pour neat winter strength screen wash into the washer tank. If you have a frozen washer tank and have been trying to run the pumps then you may have burned them out...... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
