It certainly could be taken that way, I reckon.

I thought that somewhere on the software side their was an option to set tyre sizes, to allow calibration of the speedo stat nav to account for the different rolling radius and am certain that it included the MTR size

@tafftoo:
That's great, thanks! Thumbs Up I'll pm you on monday after I had a chat ith the dealer and the TUEV-guys again.

@Rupert&Tim:
Exactly, Rupert explained it perfectly! Thumbs Up
Just some more information: Since you have the TUEV-guys in Germany and therefore can only run these tyres after TUEV allowed it (which means it will be added in the registration papers) you will not have any insurance issues if TUEV allowed it. However you will have warranty issues. Landrover Germany sais by putting these tyres on your car you do not have any warranty on steering and suspension anymore. Shocked However I will have a chat with my new dealer on monday and what I will do is trying to find out if they know that. Whistle Very Happy I am hoping (and thinking since they do know nothing about cars Rolling Eyes Laughing ) they don't know that they have to refuse warranty work on my car if it runs on the 19 inch MTRs and if they do so, I will buy them. Cool

To be honest, I'd prefer ATRs over the MTRs but it will be hard to find a set like these, I guess and the ATRs are almost as expensive as the MTRs when they are new.

One option would be to buy 18 inch wheels, fit all terrain tyres on them and to sell my 19 inch wheels with tyres which would be very cheap since the 18 inch wheels are a little hard to find in Germany but veeeery cheap and the tyres would cost half as much as the 19 inch tyres. But 18 inch just does not look as good as 19 inch, that's it. Cool

@lespes:
Could you try and find out how this can be done and if it can be done by oneself. Because the speedo is one thing which could make this set of tyres expensive since some TUEV-guys (depending on their mood, I guess) want you to adjust the speedo everytime you put these other wheel sizes on and off again! Shocked Thud
So if it could be possible to do it by oneself that would be perfect! Very Happy RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

@Angel:
Really? Great! Cool Do you think you could give him a call and ask whether I can get the wheels into my registration papers without any need (or entry) to adjust my speedo? They are about 3% larger than the standard-ones which should be fine, I think.
Could he perhaps even do the test and the entry in the papers or is he none of the engineers? Question RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

Eh..... Question

Rupert wrote:
...There is however a setting on the IDS system, that allows a dealer to upload a tyre size of 255/55 19 into the RRS, which will correct the discrepancies. Given that the RRS & D3 share pretty much the same systems & that a 255/55 19 tyre is a listed size for a D3, it is only a software issue.

This, I suspect, is how the G4 RRS’s run on MTR’s.

Standard: 255/50 R19
MTRs: 255/55 R19

Both on the same standard genuine Landrover wheels.

Thanks for asking! Thumbs Up RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

A really useful tyre size calculator, can be found Here

Which gives tyre size comparisons along with rolling radius differences.

@Angel:
Did you already speak to your brother in law?

@tafftoo:
If Angel can secure the TUEV-thing, I'll PM you and we can discuss about the price. However already one point: Do you know or have any possibility to ship these wheels to Germany?
I just know about a few transporting companies which can pick up the wheels at your place but they are very pricey I'm afraid, the cheapest I have been offered so far was well over 200 €! Shocked

If there is any cheaper way to send them (e.g. make two packages of two wheels each and send them via parcel service which in Germany is significantly cheaper than sending wheels), of course there is more space left for me concerning the price for the wheels... Thumbs Up

Or perhaps any German is on holiday in UK this spring or any of you from the island will come to D for holiday? Question I'd offer 1 RBMM for transporting the wheels! Mr. Green

@all who are interested:
Yes, it does affect the warranty, but since my stealer is so planless (<- does this really exist in english, it is the same word in german! Very Happy ), he won't recognize that, I'm sure, so I won't have warranty issues. 2. I know that expression. However leo.org told me there was the word "planless" for it, but I have never heard that, so I asked. Cool RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink
