Sounds good!

its in everyones interest to sort this issue out, as Landrover wont be selling many RR Sports if it gets into the public domain that they have a known problem.

I think you have valid reason to reject this car as "not fit for purpose", get in touch with your local trading standards office they will help Thumbs Up

We all know this sounds logical but there is another well covered 'feature' of the RRS that has gone unaddressed despite being widespread... Rolling Eyes

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hello all,

I know I have not been on here for a while so a quick update.........

Changed the TDV6 for a TDV8....WOW!!

Had a few minor problems, nothing that the dealer couldn't fix without too much fuss and I've got to admit I still hold them as the best dealer I have ever come across!

Couple of months ago we got the 'clonking' noise from the front end and the dealers did the up grade which the TDV8 apparantely needs and also uprated the rear end and the body stabilizers??

Had it's first service last week......no problems....

Today the suspension dropped itself to the floor, put the red light on and said 'do not travel over 30mph'
It is really unwell!!

After a quick read on here looks like I might be in the running for a whole heap of trouble.

I do hope not as we are enjoying the vehicle........will keep you all posted Drive it like you stole it,
park it like you don't care!

1. Video of you travelling through a puddle
2. Interior pictures
3. Exterior pictures, preferably with your abode in the shot
4. Wheel shots

Oh dear... I see some things never change!!

Just spoken to the dealers and told them it would be with them in the hour. To say they are more than confident that they will fix it is an understatement!!
They have had a couple of them with problems but nothing they couldn't fix.

Watch this space!! Drive it like you stole it,

Just got my TDV8 back after its latest suspension failure.......so far so good Smile

Would this issue be worthy of a seperate sticky thread so we could start to get a feel for the number of cars affected.
The driver that delivered my RRS this afternoon told me that nearly every recovery he does involving a RR Sport is down to Air suspension failure Shocked

How strange is that,

the guy that came out to us had then to go out to another one with the same problem. The guy at the hire car company said that he could not keep up with the amount of Land Rovers that had failed today!!

Dealer rang last night to say that they had the car and would look at it today. Drive it like you stole it,
park it like you don't care!

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Java Black
Suspension

That story is incredible, my sport nearly killed my whole family, picked the car up from the dealership drove 200 moterway miles and on the journey, the dash and warning lights about all manner of things flshed up, twice phoned the dealer, assured me it was purely a IT cliche...arrived at the first big round -a bout off the M6 and the vehile lost all power, a waggon driver only narrowly missed taking us all out...took the car back on the Monday, did not see it for over a week , while they dropped the whole engine bay...

Took a big hit last night, two new rear tyres in september because the insides were scrubiing, assured the suspension was ok....then it failed and was replaced under warrenty in October, just been in for a service some 4k miles later and they inform me I require two new tyres £210 / each price mateched with ATS and a £200 alignment check....£900.00...surely this should have been checked when they repaired the suspension?

Any help would be appreciated.

Had a phone call from the dealers today and they are confident that we should get the car back tomorrow.

The problem was caused by a faulty rear ride height sensor.

Lets hope they are right and we can go back to enjoying the old tub Drive it like you stole it,

Start keeping a note of the failures. Dates, details etc.

I have had 2 sensors replaced sine Dec 26th and last night the amber warning light for the air suspension came on.Pulled over switched off the engine and restarted, the light did not come back on and the car has been ok on the 26 mile drive into work.

What a shambles! Censored
