Why not just carry a set until it gets to stage 3 ie all vehicles and then get the hell out of there, thus complying with the law.

depends how much on mountain you do. most problem is from the ice and not snow. if you do alot of skiing then get snow tyres as I do -from Richard at SNOWTYRES.COM.AU in Camberwell. Also known as Roof Carrier Systems. He has great knowledge on the chains. With snow tyres /4wd you will not need chains.Just carry and old pair(which you know will not fit) just in case you are checked.See Richard |

Just as a suggestion, depending on which resorts your are skiing is to call National Parks.

Looks like RTA New South Wales will introduce chains for all vehicles inc 4wd from 2010 go to the following website for the details, http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations/snowchains/index.html.

Try going to www.rta.nsw.gov.au and then go to left hand menu and click on 'Rules and Regulations' and under this header you will find a subject called Snow Chain Dsicussion Paper click on this and it will lead you to discussion papers. 2.7 RRS TDV6, java black, Cruise, Sunroof, tow pack, Tasmod Sills, brembos, 20 inch rims, tinted windows, premium ice, adaptive bi xenons. 2005 Porsche Boxster S for the fun asphalt days. Ducati Monster 696 termi racing pipes and computer and carbon fibre bits. |
