United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Java Black
Fake 20" Stormers??

A few months after I bought my secondhand RRS Supercharged HST, I realised that my 20" Stormer wheels(255/50) were different to LR's official figures on the handbook which are 275/40.

Does anyone know why this is? Are my wheels fake?

On top of this, the tyres are 3 different makes as well; 2 Michelin Diamaris at the front and a Continental Cross Contact and a Goodyear Eagle RSA at the back. I have to change the Continental as it has a slow puncture and is nearly worn out, but which tyre should I change this with? After some research, I found out that the Goodyear's Load Index is 104 whereas the Michelin and the Continental are 109. Can I have 109 tyres at the front and 104 tyres at the back?

My ideal solution to all thes problems is to buy brand new 22" Overfinch wheels with tyres, but can't really afford to do so at this time...

Thanks for your help in advance.

all you need to do is change the tyres to 275/40 all round and hey presto there is no need to change the wheels as well. I have michelin pilots on mine and before I had Eagle F1's so I would just have a word with your local tyre retailer they will advise you. PS shop around to get the best price because if some see you don't really know about the tyres they will palm off the most expensive ones first.

As for the stormers dont worry if they are fake because most of them are!! you can tell if they are origional by taking the wheel off and on the back or one of the spokes there will be a land rover badge. if not its fake. Most are equally as good a quality as the origional so dont worry

So, I can fit wider tyres to the same wheel? Didn't know that... Any idea why the previous owner fitted 255/50 tyres against the recommendation?

Can't really afford to change all tyres at the moment either, plus the front Michelins are nearly new.. I'm thinking about leaving the Michelins at the front but having two Goodyears at the back. The Goodyear is the most affordable as well, although its load index is 104 vs Michelin's 109. Does this matter?

no not really it is for road use only? yea looks like the last owner fitted smaller tyres because they were cheaper. Believe it or not there are actually alot of good second hand tyres about for about £60 each fitted. My pilots were traded against a new set f 22" tyres with only 5000 miles. I have a good friend who is a tyre fitter so he knew I would buy them £240 fitted for 4 tyres in perfect condition. my last tyres were nearly £1000!!!

just double check the width of the wheel I think they are 9.5 inches wide. You can also fit 295/40 as well. hope this helps
