Hi All,

I would appreciate your thoughts on the following:-

I purchased a brand new RRS TDV6 HSE a few weeks ago, now done approx 750 miles. I recently had a warning come up on the centre dash, "Transmission fault", along with HDC Fault, Park Break Fault, "tilt over warning" and the message "Lowering suspension". I would be driving along, without any particular strain on the car.

This has happened twice now, and is cured by switching the car off, then on again. The car drives without any symptoms, so my head tells me this must be an electrical/computer glitch. LR Assist tell me this is "dealer refferal", so I have booked in with my dealer to have this looked at. lets see what they come up with.

My question is, have any of you had simmilar troubles, and if so, what has been the cause?

This is a common problem especially on new cars. Your dealer will plug a diagnostic computer into the RRS to see what the problem is. If the fault occurs again it is best to get Land Rover Assist out straight away and get the car to a LR service centre. DO NOT LOCK THE CAR as this will reset the system and make finding the fault more difficult. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks VA. Sadly, I have locked the car, so in a perverse sort of way, I hope the fault happens again now!!

You say common problem on new cars...so is it always the same cause, i,e a common wiring/short/sensor fault??

It can be a number of things all of which are usually minor. More often than not it's a faulty sensor. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

My car came up with 'Transmission Fault" with barely 140km on the clock as I was driving it into the driveway after picking it up new from the stealer. Oh sh.t I thought. I have never had any warnings of any description since...maybe it was just getting used to being driven? It has been great ever since. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged

I had it from new 3 years ago! Fixed itself after a while. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Not sure if it is related, although I suspect it may be after reading a few of the posts on this site......I have noticed the car does not get quite as warm as I suspect it should do in the mornings. It was very cold this morning (0deg C) but after 6 miles, the car was chucking out warmish air, but nothing that hot, even with the temp dial right on its hottest settings. It was the GF that noticed this, but I suspect she may be correct, as it gets no-where near as hot (air heater-wise) as my BMW did.

Also, the temp guage this morning didnt quite reach where it normally sits after a few miles.

anyone else experienced the same? "how hot does your TDV6 get" (not meant to sound funny!)

I see there is a TSB about a Thermostate and EGR low flow problem causing these warnings to flash up (TSB LTB00124), so perhaps there is something in it not quite getting hot enough this morning????

that's what you get when you put a french engine in an english car joke aside its a modern Diesel engine and they don't get warm enough during winter time.....

sure i do - but the engine still isn't getting warm enough...

I've had this warning come up twice since I purchased a used RRS a couple months ago. It only happened when it was really cold outside and we parked the vehicle outside and not in the garage. Never happened when the weather was warm. My RRS must not like the cold weather .
