If you did get one will you get all the services?

All phones sold here in italy do not have locks like in the UK and so prices here are the buy sim free price including the Iphone. Just as in the UK, if you commit to 12month contract you get a reduction. RRS TDV8 HSE 2007- JAVA Black/Black interior,

when iPhone launched in the UK i got one on my t-mobile business account via their exclusive iPhone agreement that t-mobile had in germany, i suppose it all depends on how much you spend with them and how much of a worthy customer you are, i personally spend a lot so they seemed more than helpful to get me a t-mobile running version from germany and set up on my UK account Thumbs Up Current

Thud ... Banging Head

Aaaaaaaany-who.....

Found a retailer in Cyprus called iPelagos selling the following:

iPhone 3g 16gb, factory unlocked for €750

http://www.ipelagos.com/pd-apple-iphone-3g...-black.cfm

BB Bold for €672

http://www.ipelagos.com/pd-blackberry-9000-bold.cfm

and most surprisingly...

BB Storm due in soon priced at €553, €120 less than the Bold Confused

http://www.ipelagos.com/pd-blackberry-storm-9500-gsm-version.cfm?

All BB's come with this warning though:

Even though the Blackberry's sold through this website are fully unlocked, depending on how you intend to be using your Blackberry, you are strongly recommended to contact your service provider prior to purchasing so that you verify that your service provider supports the BLACKBERRY TECHNOLOGY and certain special features that go along with Blackberry usage. We cannot guarantee any of that. Once again, it is the customer's responsibility to verify compatibility and we will not accept any retunrs due to incompatibility discussed herein. Additionally, all Blackberry phones we sell bar the Cingular, AT&T or T-Mobile logo. This means that the phones are intended to be used with one of these providers but have been unlocked to be used on any GSM network.
As as hint, to the best of our knowledge, only MTN (former Areeba) supports Blackberry in Cyprus at this moment but if you are a Cyta subscriber you are still encouraged to get in touch with them directly to find out details.

No mention of SE Xperia X1 yet.

Obviously not cheap, but if they are offering factory unlocked iPhones then that may be the route to go as they claim on their website that they will connect and work on CYTA-Voda no problem. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

There is no official unlock for an iphone yet - just a dummy mask sim card that goes over your existing sim card - and believe me this only works for a short time - the old 2G phones have a software unlock - but there is yet one to be found for the new ones - and anyone saying there is - well I would check it out. the dummy sim masks are not ideal - this was as of 2 weeks ago - so if anyone has had it done since then, then best of british to you......but be careful.

yep our business account is worth a lot with t-mobile, they were scared of losing us to orange so pull us a lot of behind the scene deals when it comes to phones, we also got blackberrys before general release as a sweetener! Thumbs Up Current
