Still undecided on the white or black phone...

These ones are claimed to be factory unlocked i.e. never been locked to a network so work OK over here with any SIM card, no problems.

Unless of course you mean just buying from markets like Italy and France where phone must be sold unlocked. But, thats not really the point (or at least my point).

I don't believe that a software unlock exists for the 3g iphone and look forward to being proved wrong.
- I've used a TurboSim before the soft unlock came out on the 1g. Is it that? 2022 P440e AB

Wouldn't the IP be the same as any other phone sold in the UK with a network lock on it!


It will only be lock so the UK network's but will work ok out side of the UK guess it will just think it's roaming? RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

Not being senile just yet, I can remember your previous posting, remember I said "just yet" Whistle

Ok, as to wipe away the doubt and uncertainty in relation to any unlock or jailbreak, the keyword being unlock, as in being able to use your 3G Iphone on ANY network and NOT having to purchase from France and such like, which BTW is a non starter anyway Rolling Eyes The "unlock" for the latest and some would say greatest 3G Iphone, based on software manipulation IS available for any phone upto and including FW 2.1, meaning available to use on any network WORLDWIDE. The Jailbreak, meaning sw unlock of FW upto 2.2 to allow you to add additional apps that ARE NOT available via the Apple Apps store is also available, the difference being it will support the latest FW release - that release being 2.2

I am not willing to post the link simply due to commercial promotion sensitivities, something that is against RRS forum rules for non contributers.

In Summary - YES the unlock is available upto FW 2.1 and NO it does not work with the recently released 2.2 FW. L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
