Tow Pack - 2 Sockets

I picked my car up from the dealers last night as it was in having the tow-pack fitted. On returning home I was making sure that I could actually insert the tow-bar, lock the tow bar….etc, I noticed that there are two 7 pin connectors, one with a white cap and the other with a black cap.

Q. Why two? (I presume one is for the trailer board)

Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Chawton White

They're for different markets.. In Australia we use the power socket not used in Europe. So I expect you should only ever use the one.

It's an expensive after market addition that.. IIRC in Australia to have tow pack fitted at the factory is $500.00, to have it retro fitted by a dealer is around $2000.00,

In the UK the black one is for N type electrics and the white one is for S type electrics. N type are for your lights (tail, brake, indicators, fog) and the S type are for powering the trailer (eg fridge in a caravan etc).

Hope this helps?
