I'm pulling my hair (what's left) out with this. My lad has read all about html and subjected me to hours of cross examination, but we seem to have fallen at the first hurdle He has tried both word and simple text to save the following:

Pelyma - to be honest you need to avoid using software such as Word - its definetely worthwhile getting a proper editor to learn. Try 'Crimson Editor' for one. These editors do clever little things like highlighting different types of text (i.e. constants, strings, variable etc) which helps when the code gets more complicated.

That's why we switched to texteditor. WRT the Crimson editor, do you still type the code or is it a WYSIWYG program as I am keen that he actually learns what is going on - which to be fair he seems to get on what he has tried so far using www.davesite.com it is just saving the work. Crimson Ed is just a code editor (no WYSIWYG) unfortunately |

That HTML is fine - I've cut and pasted it into Notepad, saved it as test.html and opened it - it renders fine in IE as expected. I use something called Primalscript for any scripting I have to do, whether it be HTML, ASP, VBScript etc. It might be a little complicated for a 9yr old, but then in this day and age who knows.
