I'm staring to worry about this because Tim & my RRS are both release date cars and if they havn't a pre-heater then we've been sold cars that arn't UK spec! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

But is it part of the spec? When I took mine on launch day even the dealer wasn't sure what was standard and what was optional. I'm going into them this morning to see about getting this replacement sensor and will ask them if I should have one. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Er... aren't these the pre-heaters that are fitted (or not) but don't work anyway unless you had one of the earliest models? Or am I getting confused with something else? I don't believe I have one...

Took the RRS to the dealer today to ask about the pre-heater and after he'd stopped laughing and geting the whole of the service department to come and look at my car he checked about the pre-heater - Scratched his head and 'No idea if you should have one' So he's doing a few calls and is getting back to me.

When are you going to hold the "Guess the colour of VA's car" competition? Park it up outside Sainsbury's in Cobham and get people to give you £1 for every guess - tell them the money is going to charity. Just hope you don't get a smartarse with the LR colour chart...

It doesn't look like ours has a pre-heater, even though ours was registered 20/5/05 and is therefore an early model. But it is just an SE though.

They are fitted to all the D3's and are there to assist warming the engine up on cold starts. Also make the heating system warm up very quickly. The bit that 'does not work' and this is debatable as to whether it should even be a feature - is the timer settings in the Settings Menu for pre-heat and pre-cool. The FBH itself is automatic. Seems that some RRS have them and some don't. I thought it was standard on all TDV6 D3's and RRS - obviously not. -s D3 owner from the other side... |

I and mpwox11 - thanks. With your car I because where you live it will not be standard fit. Matt the SE might be the reason why it's missing. The service manager I spoke to did think that because mine is an HSE it should be there, havn't heard back yet. Would still like to hear who has or hasn't got one with purchase date and spec. Many thanks to everyone so far. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
