JPR - I can believe that. I think that a VO RRS would be a good buy when they hit 17k in about 5 months time. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

yeah defo a good buy just for what they are, either way you only have to do a ntioanl search on Autotrader and you can pick up a S/C RRS on a 05/55/ even 06 with sub 50k miles for -£23k and under, people just dont want them. But i see it as a bonus for petrol heads, just a shame if your looking to get rid of them.

Likewise when i sold my 05 HSE recently i got £28.5k by holding out, but the buyer knew fully well he could have had a 56 plate SC for less, but he wanted to pay £210 for 12 months tax and not £400 plus running costs etc so he was happy and so was i Thumbs Up Current

Hi again

What was the GFV in percentage terms those of you are currently on or have just come to the end of?

A show of hands would be appreciated if youre brave enough Cool

Not absolute money values but just say what date you took out your finance, which model of RRS, what GFV you negotiated and if you walked away at this or managed to get a higher settlement figure when the term finished

Many thanks

Theo

My RRS GFV was 24k which was up in June 2008. I then refinanced but now wish I'd walked away as I think I'm now in negative equity. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I'm just wondering about what you're after?

Have we lost money on our RRS, the answer is yes, most probably
Can we afford it? the answer is also yes, most probably

Go get an RRS for yourself and come back then.....

Theo,

I understand where you are going with this, however you would need to know two further bits of info.......... how many miles per annum the agreement was and if the final payment was guaranteed. If the final payment is NOT guaranteed then it could be almost as high as you like!

Where's Kam when you need him Question

Also, deals that are currently coming to an end were underwritten in a different climate when RRS had little or no discount, therefore what you win at the end you could have lost at the beginning if you compare to a deal at this moment in time.

James Thumbs Up

Yes i agree James, the market was completely different in 05-06, but i don't like all this RRS bashing, like as if its the only car on the market thats losing most of its value.

Show me a 4x4 thats doing any better? Q7 is worse, ML's they can't sell them, GL's - er.. buy a 420cdi and watch what happens to the value and resale which simply doesn't exist.. If you want co look at the RRS, them compare it to other vehicles on the market right now and you'll see that the RRS performs the same if not sligtly better then other 4x4's on the market right now financially. Big petrolled engined cars, 4x4's and luxo barges are all a small shadow price wise of what they were new.. whats new?

For example: 2007/07 RR SPORT TDV6 HSE - 18k miles, Rear ent pack, 20" alloys, side steps, privacy:
£30-32k depending on the deal.

2007/56 - Q7 3.0 TDI Sline, with tech pack, keyless go, Bose, with half leather = best bid at £24k..
Against the same car..

Today's rates as an example of part exchange values on two like for like cars.. for you to compare.
All 4x4's are money pits.. some more so then others!
