LR cut back on production

Read in the paper over the weekend that LR are cutting the Friday production of the RS and D3 due to decreasing orders. The FFRR night shift is also being stopped. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Maybe they should think about slowing the line down and taking longer to build them better than cutting back on a day's production 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Shame this is having to happen, will no doubt affect our local area a lot as a consequence.
However better for them to take this action rather then have 1000's of completed units sitting about which would adversely affect all of the residuals/used prices on the market!

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

The cut backs shouldn't have any real impact on the local economy Kam, after all no one is being made redundant. They are just cutting back on production to reflect the downturn in demand. This happens whenever there is a threat of recession, people start tightening their belts and cutting back on new purchases.

Any labour that is freed up by volume reductions and changes in shift patterns will be re allocated to different models. The Land Rover Defender is actually increasing volume in the final quarter of this year due to it's continued success and popularity. ( But no one mentioned that bit of good news in the press did they? Confused )

Overall Land Rover and Jaguar sales figures are still showing a slight improvement in comparison to this time last year. However the last half of this financial year will obviously show a down turn in sales. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.
