That's interesting. I suppose it's obvious when you think about it, but I didn't think the DPF would have that much of a muffling effect.

it seems they also have varying effects on power - this is only anecdotal, however when the pdf was introduced on the Touareg (3.0 V6 tdi) owners who'd previously driven the 2.5tdi or pre-DPF 3.0V6 tdi indicated that the power was down |

I suppose that makes sense too.... the DPF must restrict the flow of the exhaust to some extent.

Removing the final muffler is not bad idea actually, worth trying anyway.

He is correct on the diesel, don't know about petrol. They are purely to make it look good TDV6 - gone TDV8 - gone Audi Q5 3.0 Tdi Sline wef 6/11/10 |

Had a look underneath my car and apart from the 2 cats and the DPF there are no silencers in my system.

Thanks Bobby.Had a look underneath my car again in the workshop(replacement of leaking manifold for second time) The JE system is connected to the DPF and runs al the way to the rear without any slincers in between,so there is no silencer no.8 as shown in the technical drawing. 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java/Ebony(Gone) 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8,Alaska/Alpaca,Stormers,JE Exhaust |
