land rovaer offer of 1/2 day off roading

this is both a question and a moan, so here goes.

has anyone out there recieved offers from land rover to go and have a 'half day off road exsperiance' to only find out is more of extended test drive?

this has happend twice now to my wife and i, and we are, to say the least somewhat dissappointed with land rover and there apparent faulse advertisement.

when i bought my first FFRR in 2003 and a second in 2005, i got a voucher for a half day off roading, and that is what i got on both occasions.

we change our sports every 18 months or so, and recievd another voucher in early 2007. we booked the experiance thinking we where getting what it said. when we arrived, we found it was nothing more than a glorified test drive / sales pitch. to say that we where dissapointed is an understatement. it has just happened agaian. my wife got a voucher inviteing her to a 'half day off road exsperiance'. bearing in mind that we had been caught out before, i checked today and found that it was agin an exstended test drive.

if anyone else has come across this, let me know.

Landrover ONLY give away the half day pre-sales on-road/off-road experience and I bet the offer states that it is the on-road and off-road experience - mine did.

LandRover Experience will offer you the full off-road experience but will expect you to pay, Landrover does not subsidise these (it used to as a post-sales bonus - but this stopped 3-4 years ago)

actually it does not. i had another look last night at the invite and it clearly states, a half day off road exsperiance. there is no mention of a road driving.

Hmm.. .well, the pre-sales on/off road thing is definitely what they do. I've been on a couple of these now but they're nowhere near as fun as the half-day offroading experience that they used to give away when you bought a new car.

If your letter makes absolutely mention of no on-road driving, then I guess you've cause for complaint but like others have said - the default free event does include on-road driving nowadays and is more of a sales pitch, so not sure why yours would be any different Confused
