When I collected the car I was able to release the tailgate with teh LR key - it was the preset option for both keys.

Sorry for that one chaps ..... I did read the manual and know how to do the lights and raise/lower suspension.......but must have missed the tailgate option. Will check again when I get home

Mine keeps resetting itself from opening the tailgate to opening the tailglass too... have given up reprogramming it and just use the button to open the Tailgate now... bit disappointing to be honest! |

2nd Rower - I have a 08 TDV8 (purchased 12/07) and never realised that you could open the tailgate with the keyfob. Can't see it in the manual and was never told by the salesguy. It certainly is a feature that i would like to use but thought it was not available on Aussie spec Sports. Can you explain how to set? |

I think this happens when you share the car with the wife or you are using both sets of keys, i have found that when the wife has been out in the car with her key and then i get back in using my key the settings don't always revert back. Speed Limits! not where I live! Back in a D3 Did have: RRS TDV8 2008.5MY Did have: Q7 3.0TDi S-Line/Tech/Comms pack Did Have: Disco3 HSE |

Thanks Steve, but I do not have a wife (i.e. don't share the car with anyone) and the second key is safely with all my other spare keys and never comes near the car on a day to day basis. It just resets itself! |

As ST explains above:
It is in the manual and it is standard on Aussie spec cars |

My last UK car was a Boxster S and it had two buttons on the key fob in addition to the main lock / unlock functions. One opened the front boot and one opened the rear boot. Would be great if LR did a similar thing and had seperate buttons on the key fob for opening the tail gate and the tail glass.

It can also can happen that there is a faulty catch - I hd mine stop opening the tailgate and I could not programme either key to operate the full tailgate. dealer fixed it, said there was a mechanical fault. RRS TDV6 (gone)
