Jreg - how do you find the LCD with SD signals? We are still pretty much 95% SD signal in the UK and Plasma is gives a better all round performance for both SD and HD when compared to LCD - I agree the Sony LCD's are very good however fundamentally LCD still underperforms on SD signals imo |

I'm happy enough with the quality of an SD signal on this LCD. Or maybe I should say that I'm really never happy watching SD on any TV anymore, but I can tolerate it as well on this set as any other. The majority of what I watch is HD (sporting events, network shows, HD movies, etc.), and I also have a PS3 that allows me a little 1080p content, so I'm a lot more interested in 720p/1080i/1080p picture than I am with how SD looks on it. However, if you still aren't getting a lot of HD content over there, I can absolutely understand that SD picture quality is still a deciding factor for somebody looking at LCD vs. Plasma. |

my general comments to customers basically echos your comments - LCD will come into its own once you are watching purely 720 to 1080p sources. Another reason for getting LCD is for energy saving as they run at lower power than the equivalent sized Plasma and will only get better when OLED comes to the market. |

Personal recomendation from a pro (Insert own gags here) always carries alot of weight (And again...) as far as i'm concerned if you're going to lay out a pile of cash on this kind of thing.

they look great and they spend money on developing a good picture, however they are seriously over priced in my opinion. We've done two B&O systems in the last two years and both times have been impressed with the results, however could have got the same result with half the money. The just look cool. Kaine |

Nearly succumbed when kitting out the villa but was happy with the look and picture of the Philips and we got the LCD with 60Gb (I think) DVD for much less than the B&O TV alone |
