Yep, new joystick (a Quickfire II, if I remember) every 3 months or so. I never spent my pocket money on anything else but games and bits for the "computer".

that it cost about £10 to fill it up. What was petrol then... 50p a litre something like that?

I learned to program on a C64 - our dad refused to buy us a tape recorder at first so that we would learn how the thing worked.. And when we did get a tape recorder - yes we went through our share of Quickfire II joysticks on Daley Thompsons Decathoon. Much better on the C64 than the Spectrum |

Pretty much all the Spec/C64 games are available for free download now as the copyright has elapsed on most of them. All you need is an emulator to run them on and away you go... |
