I thought I would ask your collective wisdoms in helping me buy a new TV. We are looking for a 42" one and think we want a plasma. I had initially thought we would go for this Panasonic as we don't have sky http://www.cheapelectricals.co.uk/acatalog...QgodPw32tQ and then I saw the Pioneer http://www.cheapelectricals.co.uk/acatalog..._4280.html which you can get for about £1,300. It isn't as high spec being HD ready rather than full HD - but is it worth the extra £300 as it will really blow my budget (and upset the wife!)? Also are the 5 year warranties worth having? I want to put a blue ray surround sound system with it in time, but at the mo my Technics one will have to do.

Half one for a grand would be good. I think it is fair to say the HD Ready Pioneer is a better tv that the Full HD from Panasonic (although I have only seen the Tvs in Currys |
