Audi will be reverting to lighter V6 engines for future S models - allbeit supercharged or twinturbo - they reckon they can produce similar performance through being lighter and more fuel efficient - by up to 20%

Actually that thought struck me as I was typing it... and to think the Lotus Carlton was the world's most powerful saloon for years stuck at 377bhp

Me too... nearest I got was a Gsi3000, which I was rightly proud of being about 20 at the time! Looks a bit date now though

Something to do with them not homologating it. If they do, the manufacturer has to produce a certain number of spare parts for the future.

It does... there's less and less LCs still running now for that very reason. I wonder if there's a grey import market for spares?

some interesting info on this AUDI vehicle launch schedule - RS5 launch in Feb 2009 plus a Q7 Hybrid and Q5 Hybrid also on the cards for 2009 - interesting times
