Audi will be reverting to lighter V6 engines for future S models - allbeit supercharged or twinturbo - they reckon they can produce similar performance through being lighter and more fuel efficient - by up to 20%

Of course they will be saving the monster V8's V10's for the reserve of the RS models.

Yeah... and an RS7 to be 600+ bhp! Bow down

Can't wait for the next generation M5... BMW are playing catchup now. Supposed to be a new engine for next year's M5 but it only looks like 550-odd bhp.

Seems crazy doesn't it that we all refer to bhp outputs today as 'Only' Confused

Actually that thought struck me as I was typing it... and to think the Lotus Carlton was the world's most powerful saloon for years stuck at 377bhp Surprised

Something to do with them not homologating it. If they do, the manufacturer has to produce a certain number of spare parts for the future.

Any Lotus Carlton that appears in a scrapyard causes a bunfight of epic proportions Laughing Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

It does... there's less and less LCs still running now for that very reason. I wonder if there's a grey import market for spares?
