Squeaky front end

hi all-

Has anyone had a "squeaking noise" when for example driving over a speed hump or braking sharply whilst slowing down for a roundabout or similar?

Have Dynamic Response on a TDV8 with not many km's and little off road work.

I've just had a wash and polish and did not have the noise before so thinking that it's something needing a bit of grease or lube.

Is diagnosing a problem like this likely to be something that a dealer will charge like a wounded bull for or is it all part of the LR warranty.

Yeah, i had that. From memory it was worn bushes or something similar, and all covered under warranty

Mine was never there at the start of a journey, usually about 30 minutes in

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I had the same on my old 07 model. Had some anti-roll-bar bushes made special with an internal diameter 0.004" smaller than standard- (tighter fit) I had them made with slots in the centre of the bush and filled them with vaseline to lubricate the anti-roll-bar as it moved sideways. Instant cure. It was a system I designed in 1983 on the early XR3i with the same problem.

Easy way to prove if it is that is slack the brackets off to release the bush and squirt some spray lube inbetween the bush and roll bar and try it. Because sometimes its the lower suspension arm rear bushes that squeak. You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

WORN BUSHES

Finally booked in for a checkup of the squeaking which turned out to be worn front bushes, fixed under warranty!

No charge and good service from the dealer with regards to dropping off the car, being kept informed and pleasant service.

Just hope they last longer than 7000km's.[/u]

Trivett Classic In Sydney - must say the whole process was good from drop off at the valet style service department, straight on a shuttle bus back into the CBD and a quick wash and vac at the same time for collection. They were not the supplying dealer either as I had bought from a Melbourne dealer through a fleet buyer.
