Which should I get? I like the carpeting, well, cause it's carpet. But rubber mats would come in handy during the rainy season... Do the rubber mats have a lip to keep water from spilling onto the original carpet?

What are your guys' opinion?

I had the rubber mats... living somewhere muddy it would have been a waste of time to have the carpet mats. They also have an air of solidity about them and look good with the little metal corners. If I remember they do have a slight lip around the edges, but then how much loose water is going to be on your shoes such that it would cascade over the edge of the mat?

That said the carpet mats are much more comfy... if you're not likely to get the carpet mats dirty then go for carpet. If you're likely to need the rubber mats, go for them

carpet mats for normal use ... rubber mats for when the kids are going to be in the car
SWMBO prefers the rubber mats, they fit well in the car and so far have protected the carpet in the car even after serious off-roading can recomend them  Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Yep, you can pick them up on eBay for much less than dealer price... even with the usual 10% discount, so it's quit feasible to have both. The inactive set can go in the boot when you're not using them.

you need both, rubber for when its wet and carpet for when you get naked in the back - trust me

No problems storing just lay one over the other

I am with you. I have rubber over carpet for winter and will use just carpet for summer except when launching the boat when I will use rubber on the driver's side in case of sand and salt on my feet.
