From what i understand if you have TPM then your wheels will have special valve caps that relay this information back to the car ... Im sure someone will provide a picture of one. I have seen a few things about this on here so maybe a quick search of the forum will come up with something. In regards to different size wheels etc . Im thinking it wont be a problem but again not 100%.

for €130 I got a second set of 5 tyre pressure senders to put in my off-road rims, they just screwed in and as long as the pressure is ok then they link up with the system in the car within 2km, if the pressure is not ok then the dash tells you to check tyre pressure.

xL, although my RRS is a MY 2006 and doesn't have the TPM system, I had a similar system on my last vehicle, and didn't have any problems when I had a shop swap out the tires on it. If you mention to your installer beforehand that you have that type of system, I think it should just be a matter of them putting the valve caps/sensors on the new ones. |

The sensors are a module that sits in the well inside the rim and bolts through the valve hole, the valve cap can be of plastic. They don't require to be on any particular wheel as the TPS system figures out what wheel is where by it's self Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

So the valve stem itself is seperate from the sensor? Are the valve stems just regular ones or are they special order items? |

Just bought a set of 19 inch wheels with winter tyres for my tdv8 but they don't have the TPMS sensors fitted however the car is fitted with the system. Will this cause a problem when I fit the wheels at winter time?

No James..Don't worry about it, when you refit the summer wheels the car will detect this and after a few miles your pressures will again show up on the TPMS display...no need to recalibrate anything You could fit sensors to your new wheels which the car again would automatically recognise when the wheels are refitted...but these sensors are VERY expensive!!! |
