Am I reading this right - you have had the car from new for one year and then they expect you to pay for extended warranty for a car 2 years in the future? In the UK we are contacted after 2 years 11 months to see if we want to extend and personally I'm not going to as I think the price is too high and other policies are available. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If it is $2000 for 2 years warranty - from 3 to 5 years, i'd do it.

Agreed if it's $2000 for 2 years it's a steal but I'm surprised you are being asked this after year 1. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

He isn't is he? From year 3 to year 5.... Either way $2k = £1k and for 2 years that's pretty good value. Can't comment on the time limit - I know you have 30 days after the expiry of BMW's factory warranty to start an extended warranty before the opportunity is removed. But it seems a bit unreasonable to only give you 2 days notice 2009 Outstanding Contribution Award - Joint Runner Up 2009 'Tech-Head Of The Year' Award - Runner Up Like it here? And to demand it after the car is only 12 months old when there is another 2 years to go before you really even have to think about it. Re-reading Williams post I see he already has the 3 years warranty................ could somebody be looking for an early bit of commission? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yeah... why pay for it now when you're still covered for another two years? Maybe the sales guy has the wrong end of the stick...

Hmm... I would question that it's a rule from LR UK, I'm sure I've never heard of that being the case before. You normally start to get the marketing info around extended warranties as the car approaches 3 years old.

Q1: It includes parts AND labour - you need any warranty work doing, it doesn't cost you a penny (or a cent!).
