United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Further to my earlier post I have just received a letter from LR saying they discussed the problem with my dealer and as I was aware of the noise in my earlier vehicle should have been aware of the problem and it was basically my fault for buying another RR Sport. Hence they will not take any further action

I am frankly astounded, for a manufacturer to tell a customer it is his fault for buying a product because there is an inherant problem with it, this must be a first!!!

I will be contacting my PR agency as there must be some interesting publicity to gained from this.

New purchasers beware.

well this just confirmed my thoughts - as much as I hear fabulous things being written about the TDV8 - and really, it;s incredible - I just know I would be really really Censored if something like the knocking sound was apparent. My wife knows me better than most, and she knows I would as hard as I could to make the point to any car firm (I didn't tell any of you this, but my last BMW 650 Convertible, BMW sold to me new for £20K due to the problems I had with my previous one) and would do whatever it took. And thats why last Monday, Charles Hurst made me an incredible offer on a new car (thanks James) but I couldn't do it. I'm happy with my TDV6, it has no knocking, does have the adaptive drive thing, and works fine. Ok turbo lag, but if you rev it high enough, and I do drive it in sport mode most of the time - and it all works for me...

I feel I must let you know one of Land Rovers comments in the letter sent to me from the customer relations department regarding the suspension noise, I have used the same spelling as in the letter - "we are happy your vehicle is standard to the marquee" !!!!.

Obviously Land Rover are comparing the suspension noise to a flapping tent!!

As I've said before - if this is normal on the car they should list it on the sales broucher somewhere between heated seats and rear wash wipe. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The VIN range in this bulletin says "900290 Onwards" Confused

My VIN range starts 12****

So is this bulletin only for the latest cars assuming they are now building above 900290 or is it downwards of that number Question
If only upwards it would seem bizarre given that most cars affected are MY08 and less than a year old TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

As you can see, this bulletin was issued 18th March 2008.
VIN 900290 Onwards would mean 900290, 900291, 900292 and etc. and etc., I would presume.
I am not sure how your VIN can start from 12... . That's puzzling. Malaysia Boleh!

Josh,

I've just had a look at another TSB dated 9 November 2007 and in it the VIN-range is 900109-122778.
I'm sure your vin-range is somewhere there. This can only mean the earlier TSB I posted should cover your vehicle as it says "900290 Onwards". And this TSB is dated 18 March 2008, so surely your vehicle is built before that!

Cheers! Thumbs Up Malaysia Boleh!
