Oh, good god.... we all know LR products knock the "competition" into a cocked hat when it comes to getting muddy wheels. But a lot of prospective RRS owners are the same folk that would normally be buying into X5s, MLs and Cayennes. I would bet Mrs S's latest handbag on the fact that 95% of these people will never entertain doing any offroading. Therefore they score the cars on how well they drive on the road.... the new X5 handles excellently (as did the old one) and the Cayenne is even better if you ask me. It's just a shame that it's more aesthetically pleasing to look at a pool of day old dog sick, than it is to look at a Cayenne.

I wish we could get out of the "You own a LR, so why don't you offroad it?" mentality. Most people buy a car because they like it, not because it'll be good offroad.

Rolling Eyes

PS: I like the way my poxymobile is quicker than an RRS Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

I have the admit, i really really was looking at the 3.0sd X5 with all the toys instead of the TDV8. In the end i saw one in person with the sport kit and it just didnt have the impact the sport has when i look at it, so didnt even get in it. Although i really did want the HUD and pre heating system bmw offered. The fact the sport is good off road is a bonus Smile.

All joking aside S is spot on LR has to make the sport quicker and better handling, as lets face it sport wise even the SC is an also ran. Maybe RR Grand Tourer would have been a better name - perhaps this is how you should think of the car Confused BMW have never from day one said the X5 was an offroader Porsche have tried and made the thing much heavier than it needs to be. What should LR do? Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

YES! Thumbs Up I have no issue with it being called Sport as I suppose compared to other LR models, it is but they do have some work to do to beat the others in their domains.

Still love the RRS though, so don't get all moody on me Very Happy

FFRR is available with the pre heating system (Std TDV8, option on S/C), so why not the RRS? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

yea got told at the dealer today the FFRR comes with the pre heat. Gutted the sport doesnt have it though. Just wondering if anyone has installed the clifford intellistart to their RRS? Although this actually starts the car from the key/text message.

My understanding of this is that you can remotely start the car and it will warm it up in cold conditions.

Does anyone know if you leave the a/c settings to cold whether it will cool the car down?

Sounds a bit of a daft suggestion but it is sold as 'Pre-heat'.

If not, seems a bit of a waste of cash to add it to the S/C for us? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I know on the X5 you have to set it up on the Sat Nav somewhere Time for it to come on and the temp sure it must be the same in the LR? RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

The FFRR preheater uses the FBH on a timer unit as far as I know so I'm sure that you would be wasting your money having one an S/C that is to be used in a scorching hot climate ST. Have never heard of LR having a "pre-cool" function although IIRC Audi has one that is powered by a special optional extra "solar panel" sunroof on the A8, but it is very expensive to have even as a factory option.

The folks that I sail with have a Webesto reverse cycle AC/Diesel powered heater system on their 40ft boat, works as aircon in hot weather and a warm air blower in cold weather. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
