Hello all,

One month old now with only 500 miles (yes, I know I need to drive it more) and I've nothing but good things to say! However I have the following I'd like to get feedback on....

My front sensors seem to "flat-line" (i.e. solid high-pitch tone) when I'm NOT within a 1ft range of an object. It is particularly over sensitive as I pull into my garage. I'll press the button to activate the front sensors and the solid high-pitch tone sounds without "beeping". The tone is constant rendering the use of the sensors useless while parking inside. (Rear is unaffected - operates normally)

My owner’s manual states the sensors can be affected by "devices" near-by using the same frequency which can interfere. I notice this issue mostly in my own garage and when I've parked in a couple underground facilities in San Francisco.

So my question to you experts is;

Assuming the owner's manual is correct - could there be a frequency interference in my garage causing this anomaly? i.e. electronics in my other vehicles? My garage door opener/motor? Some electronic device in my house? Or from other vehicles (like when in a public facility)?

I wanted to trouble shoot this before going to the dealer as I've not noticed this issue outdoors or when pulling in/out of normal parking spaces. The "issue" appears to be intermitant.

It transpired that they had got water into the connectors and this was shorting then out and turning the cables green due to corrosion.

Apparently the bumper need to be removed (on a FL2 anyway) to access them so its no a job unless you know what your doing.

Indeed, thank you for the tip. I did "test" this possibility with the aid of another person having them walk around the perimeter of the vehicle while the sensors were activated. I also parked between 2 vehicles to test as well. It appears to not be the issue....

The wetness possibility mentioned by npinks is something I've not considered as I did wash the vehicle Saturday and experienced this issue the same day. Hmmmmmmm I also think I might need to "trouble shoot" more in an open environment where there are inanimate objects (i.e. rocks, cement posts, etc.)

I find them over sensitive when parking. Better over sensitive than bumps though

Do you have an incline as you pull into your garage? Isn't there a sensor under the car that let's you know when you are close to 'grounding out'?

My garage is not on any kind of slope - very level. However there is my furnace/water heater unit and there is some metal trim peices on/around several architectual details such as the doors, etc. There is also large exposed ventilation pipes for the forced-air heating but those are above the hieght of the vehicle?
