Isle of Skye

We've just returned from a weeks holiday on Skye.
What a beautiful place Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
The weather was terrific with clear blue skies all week and the scenery is spectacular.
Top Gear recently drove all over Europe trying to find the best driving road. They really missed a trick not going to Skye. Many of the road are pristine smooth tarmac and at this time of year, they're virtually empty and all within some of the best landscapes to be found anywhere. The TDV8 was great. Whatever traffic we came across was very quickly and safely dispatched in an effortless surge of torque (JE re-map Thumbs Up ).
We also went to the Three Chimneys restaurant, which was very nice. However, I have had better for less money (£250 for 4), although it was beautifully presented and the service was excellent.
We'll definitely be going back to Skye again.

Aye there are some beautiful roads over on Skye, havn't been over for a few years tho. There are also some spectacular ones around the Applecross area. Going from Thurso on the north coast along to Durness and down to Ullapool then continuing down past Poolewe stopping for a visit in the tropical gardens and see the wild palm trees growing along the roadside, then down past Loch Marie and towards Applecross just a magic area for a drive.
Harrumph ....think I'll go and fire up the V8 I feel the need for a quick drive Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

You should have seen it by the time I got home. It was one tone grey all over, including the windows. The number plate was completely unreadable Very Happy

I don't have any more RRS pictures, but I do have more scenery pictures if you're interested.
